Subscription Plan Fields
Plan Name: This field allows you to set a name for the subscription plan. The Plan name will be visible everywhere for a course (from the front-end course to the Order summary) to identify which course and plan is subscribed to by a student.
Price: This field allows you to set a price in fractions up to a set number of digits. This will be considered the regular price for the subscription plan.
Billing Interval: With this field, you can set how much time the next amount will get charged for the subscription plan. For example, if you set the interval as 1 and the Duration as a month, then the payment will get charged every month.
Billing Cycle: You can set how many times a student will get charged for the course using a billing cycle. For example if you set 6 as the billing cycle and Billing interval as 1 month, then the student will get charged a total of 6 times. Here 6 will be calculated as 1st cycle today’s or on the date a student purchases the course, and 5 more every month.
Post billing cycle: You can control the course access once the billing cycle is complete. Either you can close the access to the course or allow lifetime access using this option.
Enable Trial: If you want to set a Free trial for your course, then you can use this option. This allows you to set the Trial days for a subscription plan. That means students can view or have access to the course for free for the set trial interval.
Note: Billing cycles set will not get affected by the trial for example, if you set 6 billing cycles, then these will start once the trial get complete.
Enrollment Fee: This option allows you to charge an enrollment fee for the course. This will be an additional fee and charge along with the regular price.
Note: If you want to create a paid trial, then you can also set an enrollment fee along with trial days.
Featured: This option will set this plan as auto-selected on the front end. We advise you to set only one plan in a course as featured.
Enable Sale Price: This option allows you to set a sale or discounted price for the subscription plan. The sale price must be less then the regular price.
Recurring Price Type: This option allows you to set how you want to charge the recurring amount, either the sale price for the rest of the billing cycles or the regular price after the first cycle.
For example, if you set the sale price as the recurring price, then all the billing cycles will get charged for the sale price.
If you set the regular price as the recurring price, then only 1st cycle will be charged on the sale price or discounted price, and from the 2nd to the last billing cycle will be charged on the regular price.
Schedule Sale Price: If you want to set the sale price for a particular time interval, then you can use this optional setting. You can either set the date and time to start or end the sale price.
We have added these optional fields so that you can configure them as per your requirements.
For example, if you only want to set an end date, then keep the start date blank and only set the end date. This will immediately start the sale with an end date.
In another case, you don’t want to end the sale but want to start on a particular date and time, then only set the sale start date and time.
Another case, you want to enable the sale only for particular date and time, then set both fields.
How to Create Subscription Plans in Acadlix?
- Navigate to the course settings section
- Navigate to the Payment Tab
- Click on the Add Subscription Plan button
- Enter a Name for this Subscription Plan.
- Enter a Price
- Set Billing Interval (in whole numbers)
- Set the Duration in Days / Weeks / Months / Years
- Set Billing Cycles (in whole numbers)
- Set Post Billing Cycle action ( Closed or Lifetime)
- Enable the toggle button if you want to add a Trial period
- Set the Trial Days (in whole numbers)
- Set the Enrolment Fee (if any) or leave it as it is.
- Enable the toggle button if you want this plan as featured (this will show as auto-selected in the front-end course)
- Enable the toggle button if you want to set the sale price, or simply click on the save changes button.
- If you enabled the sale price, follow the steps below
- Set a sale price (lower than the regular price)
- Choose the recurring price type (sale price or regular price)
- Want to make the price for a particular duration?
- Enable the Schedule sale price toggle button.
- Set a Sale Start Date (optional)
- Set a Sale End Date (optional).
- Click Save changes button.
Your Subscription plan for the course is ready. You can add as many subscription plans as per the requirement.
Select Payment Types:
Based on your requirement, you can now select the payment types. Below is the description of each payment type so that you can select one easily.
One Time: In this, the default one-time pricing will be available for the user, which means the student will have lifetime access with a single payment.
Subscription: In this, the subscription plans will be visible on the front to join a course. Students can join any plan as per their choice.
Both Subscription & One Time: In this, both the payment methods will be available on the front-end course to buy, that is One one-time payment as well as Subscription Plans. Students can choose from any of the available options to subscribe to the course.
Closed: In this, the default payment options will be disabled (One-time and Subscription), and fields for the Button text and Final URL will be available to set. This type of payment method is useful when you are using the course as an external affiliate course or want to receive payment from any other source or gateway.
